In today's modern world where our working lives are becoming less and less manual and more reliant upon technology to do those physical tasks, it would seem understandable that some people would suggest spending a couple of hours of leisure time behind the computer is bad for the health. Many people would assume that sitting behind a computer screen to play online bingo can only spell bad news for the health, after all, it requires little movement and physical exercise. However, recent research, has shown that these people are wrong. Yes, online bingo is, in some ways good for the health! Both online bingo and the land based version have been proven to strengthen brain activity and promote the reflexes. Experiments were carried out by scientists who tested elderly people to see how fast their reflexes were. They found that amongst those tested the ones who played bingo regulary had much quicker reflexes than those who did'nt. Not only were the bingo players reflexes quicker, they also possessed quicker mental speed, memory and a much greater ability to interpret the environment around them. Perhaps most importantly, the study also provided information to suggest that as those who play online bingo get older, providing they continue playing, their skills would continue to improve. To some this information may not come as too much of a suprise, after all, our TV screens have been bombarded with adverts attempting to sell hand held games which promote mental agility and we have been told for many years that chess can improve brain activity. Interestingly, Bingo and Chess work different parts of the brain, chess is more memory intensive whereas Bingo relies more heavilly upon time keeping skills and reactions. So there you have it, you now have another exuse to play online bingo! |
